Need help? Email sportdelayapp@gmail.com. We'll get back to you as soon as we can. The answers below cover the most common questions.

Getting started

  1. Open SportDelay and allow camera access when asked.
  2. Set your device where the camera can see you, then drag the slider to choose a delay, from 0 to 30 seconds.
  3. Do your shot, swing, rep or routine. When the delay has passed, you'll see it play back on screen.
  4. Change the slider whenever you like. The delay adjusts on the fly.

Use the camera button at the top of the screen to switch between the front and rear cameras.

Frequently asked questions

What is free and what does Pro unlock?

Delayed replay (0 to 30 seconds) with the built-in front and rear cameras is free, with no account and no time limit. SportDelay Pro is a single one-time purchase, with no subscription, that unlocks:

The screen shows "Buffering" or the video hasn't appeared yet.

SportDelay has to record for as long as your chosen delay before it can show anything. With a 10 second delay, you'll see the buffer fill for about 10 seconds and then the delayed video begins. A shorter delay starts sooner. This is normal.

The screen is black.
How do I use the pose overlay?

Tap the figure button at the top right to turn the skeleton overlay on or off. Stand so your whole body is in the frame, in good light and against a background that contrasts with your clothing, for the most stable tracking. The overlay is a Pro feature and runs entirely on your device.

How do I save a clip to Photos?

Tap the download button at the top, choose how many seconds to keep (up to 60), then tap Save Clip. The first time, iOS asks for permission to add to your Photos library. SportDelay only adds clips and cannot see the rest of your library. Clip export is a Pro feature.

How do I connect a USB camera?

Plug a compatible USB camera into your device, open the camera menu at the top right, and choose it under External camera. If it isn't listed, tap Rescan for cameras. If it still doesn't appear, unplug it, plug it back in, and check that your device and cable can supply enough power for the camera. USB camera support is a Pro feature.

I bought Pro but it isn't unlocked. / I changed devices.
  1. Open any Pro feature so the purchase screen appears.
  2. Tap Restore Purchase.
  3. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple Account you used to buy it.

Pro is tied to your Apple Account, so it restores on any of your devices at no extra cost.

How do I request a refund?

Purchases are handled by Apple, so refunds are too. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, and choose the SportDelay purchase. We can't issue refunds directly, but we're happy to help if something isn't working first.

Is my video stored or uploaded?

No. Video is held in your device's memory just long enough to play it back and is cleared when you close the app. Nothing is uploaded, and SportDelay has no accounts or analytics. A clip is only saved when you tap Save Clip, and it goes to your own Photos library. Read the full Privacy Policy.

Which devices are supported?

SportDelay runs on iPhone and iPad. A device with a rear camera and a recent version of iOS or iPadOS gives the smoothest results. Check the requirements listed on the App Store page.

Can I use it for any sport?

Yes. It's useful anywhere you want to see what you just did: archery, golf, gymnastics, weightlifting, swimming, martial arts, dance and more.
